Restaurant Ratings & Reviews Emeril's New Orleans Fish House (MGM Grand)

5 Stars king_ryan June 25, 2014

Came here for happy hour in May and had an amazing experience. The service and food were both excellent. And the mojito was the best I've ever had. I'm not a huge spender, so I love finding good happy hours. Highly recommend.

My favorite restaurant at MGM! Great service, awesome food and always a good dinner experience. The BBQ salmon is to die for but a lot of food. Steaks are ginormous as well. Had the crab cake as entree this last time and it was wonderful! The soups are excellent as well, clam chowder is my fav, with gumbo and bisque a close 2nd & 3rd... Can't say enough good things about this place!!

I had the Cedar Plank Campfire Ribeye Steak, and it was outstanding! The staff was attentive and accomodating. The sommelier's wine suggestions were delicious. Thank you, Emeril's, for a great dinner :)

Warning ask the price of drinks I had a $14 margarita in a tumbler glass....weak. Lunch is ok worth about $8-10 less than what you have to pay do yourself a favor and go eat off the Wolfgang puck in the casino better and worth what you pay.

The oysters were great! Our bartenders were a bit stale...and rude frankly. But we made our own fun.

I ate here 6 years ago just before the remodel. It was wonderful then & is still wonderful!! My husband and I were there for our fifth anniversary & after eating there nothing else compared! My family is from Southern Louisiana & the poboys are just like you would get in New Orleans....over flowing with oysters & shrimp!!! Yummy!!! A must when in Vegas!!!!!!!!!!

Great service, but food was not quite as good as expected. Wine selections were fantastic however. A bit pricey for a place that didn't have a very high end feel.

Stopped in for a drink and ended up staying for diner. Very glad I did. Food was everything I expected and more. The space is more pub than traditional restaurant but fit well in the MGM mall area. Recomend highly.

Emeril does it again! Phenomenal seafood compliments a very nice environment. Try the New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp!! To die for.

1 Star Amber February 15, 2009

Horrible food. The highlight was the roll and cornbread. Lobster bisque, gumbo, and fried oysters were bland. The ribeye tasted like chef boyardee sauce was poured on top. Pork tenderloins were super sweet and had soggy croutons as a side. Nothing stood out in a good way.

Went for Lunch a few weeks ago. It was my second vist to the restaurant. Both times have been great.

First time I had a steak with blue crab, was the best steak I have ever had!

This time I had the clam chowder and shrimp entree, both were amazing.

Service was very good and attentive.

It was a bit pricey, but thats what you get when you go to a celebrity chef's place in vegas.

Horrible! I had heard a few good things about this restaurant. My husband and I finally decided to venture out to the strip and check it out. After waiting 30 minutes past our reservation we were seated. The server took her sweet time getting to us, appitizers took another 20 minutes to arrive. I felt like I was at Chili's. Actually, Chili's is better. After an hour of horrific service and food, we left and ventured a few more feet down the studiowalk to enjoy amazing food and service at SEABLUE. I was determined to have great fish. And I did. No thanks to Emeril's.

Lunch consisted of lobster bisque, a po' boy and banana creme pie. Mmmmmm... Everything was very good. The newly renovated restaurant looks fantastic.

I'll get the bad out first since you should be left with a positive impression.

First off they posted the menu out front, it listed a dish which was not on the menu when we sat down, go figure, it was the one I wanted to order. Now that meal was available, but in a smaller portion on the chefs tasting menu which included a number of things I was not interested in. The other bad thing was my steak was slightly charred and I am not someone who can accept a poorly prepared steak. Regardless 90% of it tasted great.

The service here is excellent and frankly better than I expected if the prices should be used as a guage for service. This is a fine dining experience. Luckily with our party of 7 we had NO wait getting in, mind you, this was during the week in early Feb. The drinks (like all in Las Vegas) are honest drinks. Our main server wasn't quite as refined as some of the other servers working in our area, but he was trying his best, was well composed, and attentive and effort is such a big part of great service. My entree was the "Creole Spiced Dry Aged Ribeye served with Trinity, Warm Rémoulade and Country Smashed Potatoes, Drizzled with a hint of Emeril's Homemade Worcestershire Sauce ($27). The beef (ordered medium), as mentioned above was a little charred on parts of the outside but was cooked perfectly on the inside and full of flavor. The potatos were quite possibly the best I've ever had in my life. An excellent entree. My dessert (which isn't referenced on the website's dessert page, was a chocolate brownie, which while wasn't excellent, was quite satisfying. Overall a great dining experience. Top 10.

I'm sorry we loved Delmonico, but Emeril's was a real let down. The service was rushed and amatuerish, the room is too crowded and loud. On our visit the food was very medicore. I've head folks rave so I have assume this was an off night, but it was not good. Overcooked fish and lobster, fatty meats, un interesting sauces. A truly bad experience.

One of the best meals I've ever had in my life. The crab cakes were spectacular. I never knew I liked cole slaw until I tried Emeril's. Fantastic place. Hard to get in, it is always busy. Make sure you call for a reservation.

The service was uneven. We arrived early and were seated at a table for about 15 minutes without being offered drinks. In fact, we were completely ignored until our table was ready. Once we were seated however the waiters were very solicitous and accomodating. I had the barbecued salmon and it was one of the best restaurant meals I have ever had. My wife loved her bass with crab and tomato risotto. The wine was ridiculously overpriced, but where isn't it? Overall, it was an exceptional meal and I would go there again.

Had the Campfire Steak & it was great! Never had an empty glass, they were always refilling it. Had a white cake with chocolate buttercream icing & chocolate covered strawberries. Delicious!!!

We ate there for dinner and had no complaints entrees were around $25-$35 We had the yellow fin and salmon, both were very good. The house salad was also very good. Very nice wine list with some nice affordable wines(for Las Vegas) The staff was very attentive. Dinner for three w/drinks-wine $160

Disappointing overall. Heard so many great things about Emerils, but the food was lackluster. We had a party of 9 and only 2 were satisfied.
We even called ahead and had a special cake made to celebrate our parents anniversary, but the cake was literally like something you would buy from a grocery store.
Service was good overall and the presentations were nice.
Overall, it was not a memorable dining experience - just another nice restaurant.

We recently were in Las Vegas to attend an Aerosmith Concert and decided to try Emeril's Fish House at the MGM Grand. We were very impressed with the restaurant, the food, the staff, etc. and everything was absolutely wonderful! We definitely will return and will recommend this to our friends.

I had the Louisiana crab cakes.... mmmmmmmm, they were delicious. If you go there, you have to hae the banana cream pie for dessert. It is the best food experience of your life... notice I said FOOD! Our waiter was fun, fast, courteous and knowledgable of the menu items. We loved eating there!

WE ate at Emeril's Fish House in April and had an incrediable meal. I celebrated my birthday there and the staff went out of there way to make it special. I even got a tour of the kitchen.

There is a websight somewhere that list quotes from hundreds of people who have eaten at all the different restaruants owned by Emeril. About 90% say they loved it.

The common complaints from the few who hate it usually talk about how they expected it to be the best dinning experience ever and it fell short. Perhaps their expectations were a bit to high.

On two trips to Vegas my wife and I found the food to be exceptional.

0 Stars RateVegas User March 27, 2001

The food was great only to be surpassed by the service. We had no less than three people helping serve our table of three. I figured this might be overbearing but you hardly noticed. When ordering dessert you must, must order the bannana creme pie. This is simply the best desert I have ever had.

0 Stars RateVegas User January 30, 2001

It doesn't get any better than Emeril's. We had the tasting menu, and each selection was better than the last, ending with the famous banana pie. We were so stuffed after dining here, we had to go back to the room to lay down for awhile and it was our last night in LV!

0 Stars RateVegas User December 10, 2000

The food was wonderful, including softshell crab with prosciutto in the sauce and a lemon souffle that was like a lemon-flavored cloud. The service was exceptional - knowledgeable, friendly, not pompous. We really enjoyed the way each course is brought to your table - there is one server per person, so everybody at the table is served at exactly the same time.

The crab cakes were the best ever!! Very good seafood. Service was average but the food was tops!

Ate at the cafe/raw bar in the front of the restaurant. The food was excellent, but the staff was rude. First they put the menu out in front, and when you go in they look at each other like your an idiot. Then they tell you there are no seatings at all tonight a look at you like you like you were speaking a foregin language and point to the tables at the raw bar. So we went in and sat down to deal with a waiter with a chip on his shoulder. The tabel next to us asked what a poor boy sandwich was, and this ignorant kid answered him so rudely I was ready to call Emeril and bitch to him. However the waiter who took over for him was completely different. The food is great, but if you don't like to be disrespected don't bother. There are plenty of other great restaurants out there.
