Casino Design Photo of the Week: Tropicana Las Vegas
Posted by HunterThis week we've got the Trop. This is a shot of the partially renovated casino - it's actually pretty remarkable - the place is much brighter and nicer looking in the parts that have been re-done. If you haven't visited the Trop lately, I'd recommend checking it out.
Casino Design Photo of the Week: Paris Las Vegas
Posted by HunterI'm including Paris Las Vegas this week as an example of a themed property that looks pretty good - the inclusion of several important Paris landmarks across the facade, the 'cobblestone' streets inside (which can be a little painful to walk on sometimes) all the way to the half-size Eiffel Tower - one of the youngest themed properties on The Strip.
Casino Design Photo of the Week: Golden Nugget
Posted by HunterAh, the Nugget. Once Steve Wynn's design scratchpad, since then it's changed hands several times. Current owner Landry's has added a new tower, nightclub and renovated pool.
In my opinion, the Nugget has a lot of charm. I haven't seen the new Rush Tower yet but I'm told it's quite nice.

Posted by HunterAdmittedly, when I first saw the M Resort was I bit underwhelmed and I'm still not sure I like it as much as some others do. Still, I think the building is striking from some angles, such as this one.

Inside, constant expansion has made the place a confusing labyrinth but from the outside, it's a lot of fun to look at.

Posted by HunterThis is a photo of Treasure Island's lagoon, taken before they repainted the high-rise exterior and removed the original sign. This is a great example of a themed hotel done right.
The exterior has been substantially modified since then.

Posted by HunterThis photo of Aria's American Fish restaurant was taken the day before the resort opened to the public. I think this is an interesting bar design - the solid bar and simulated forest behind the glass.

Neon, when used well, is one of the things I love the most about Las Vegas. It's just so cool.

This time I'm back with an exterior shot at Bellagio. When I took this photo I was reminded, yet again, just how great all the exterior detail is at the resort. Great stuff.
Casino Design Photo of the Week: Palazzo
Posted by HunterWeek two - another photo. This is of the atrium area between Palazzo and The Venetian. I think this area, while somewhat reminiscent of some Bellagio design features, is the most successful bit of the newer Las Vegas Sands property.

Casino Design Photo of the Week: Encore Las Vegas
Posted by HunterI'm starting what will hopefully be a new weekly feature - the 'casino design photo of the week'. Basically, a picture of a design element or feature that I really like for some reason (and no, it won't just be pictures of Wynncore).
We start out this week with a picture from Encore. This is part of the convention area - a meeting room hallway. Whenever I walk a well-built meeting area I always wonder at all the little things they had to buy/have made - there are a ton of unique items from chairs to chests to sconces, etc...
