Has MGM Mirage disclosed how it will position the 4,000 room casino resort in CityCenter? Will it be ultra high-end, more so than Bellagio? I wondered about this as I read MGM's 2004 Annual Report which is on its website at:
http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=101502&p=irol-reports
"Project CityCenter. In November 2004, we announced a plan to develop a multibillion
dollar urban metropolis, initially called Project CityCenter, on 66 acres of
land on the Las Vegas Strip, between Bellagio and Monte Carlo. We anticipate that
the first phase of Project CityCenter will include a 4,000-room casino resort, three
400-room boutique hotels, approximately 550,000 square feet of retail shops,
dining and entertainment venues, and 1,650 units of luxury condominium,
hotel/condominium and private residence clubs."
My recollection is that the cost increase in CityCenter is mainly due to them raising the quality of the 4,000 room hotel to the level of Bellagio.

Construction has begun in earnest on MGM's CityCenter. I still am interested in how the new 4,000 room casino/hotel will be positioned in relation to Bellagio. The Review Journal has a progress report at:
