I've really been enjoying this. I'm having fun with this and so I expect to keep on doing it for awhile. There are certainly better Vegas podcasts out there but this isn't what that is about... It's more like an extension to the blog and while I have a lot to learn, I think we've been doing an okay job so far.
Call our listener line, anytime: 702-508-4232
You can leave a message that we will read on the air. Grab the number and put it in your cell phone so you can even phone in from Vegas. Also, if you are a casino employee or otherwise have info, you can use this as an anonymous tip line to feed us the goods.
This time around I talk about Harrah's rejection of the first bid, the second bid and what might happen to their Strip plans if the deal goes through. After that, it's on to my thoughts on the Downtown Las Vegas casino gaming drop and if it was just a blip. Then lastly I talk about the future of the podcast and a little bit about what's coming up.
Once again, comments are welcome and phone messages are very much appreciated.

Hey, I made a comment about the music in Episode 2. Hopefully I can sing back-ups when I make my appearance on the show.
Dut dah dut DAH DAH!
I'll listen to a bit of this before I go make my Harrah's Walk today.
Ok! Sounds like I can get some special guests to do the theme music.
I think whoever made the suggestion of chessey music should be given high praise and a free trip to the Barbary Coast Hotel Casino... 'nuff said.
Yeah, I like the so-called music as it's consistant with the theme of being the worst Vegas podcast in known history.
Minor feedback:
It doesn't really matter, but for completeness it was the Culinary Union that finally got tired of waiting and decided to call collections on Becky. She had slacked off on employee's health insurance policies so non-union workers were pretty well screwed. However, she also owed money to Fremont Street Experience and other organizations that the other downtown joints are able to pay. The reason the Horseshoe couldn't is becaue of the fact that Becky is incompetant and the suspicions that there might have been some kind of a skimming operation going on.
Conventional wisdom is that the locals places off the main drag are a better game than the Strip and downtown. I have evidence to the contrary, both in experienced hunches as well as information that I can't really go into. Let's just say that I feel more lucky playing at WLV than I do playing at a major local name that will not be identified.
As for my Harrah's trip, that didn't really happen. My day's budget was quickly annihilated at Wynn's so the rest of my time was spent wandering all corners of the strip with no money to do anything with, and lunch at the fantabulously luxurious Fashion Show food court.
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate the clarification on the details - thanks!
Oh, btw, just so I don't give incorrect info by accident: My talk about conditions (and certainly anything too hot for the blog) is mostly limited to the games I'm most familiar with and anyone who's visited this blog for a good amount of time knows what I'm into.
All other games have more obvious conditions to the intelligent gambler, and good/bad VP is decided more based on payout table. Although, again, there are a few "full pay" VP machines at Wynn ( as mentioned in Five Hundy and other places, this is unusual for the Strip,) but they're busy enough without me telling you where they are. :)
Ok, a few things from your friendly host:
Probably no podcast this week - I'm traveling out of town and I don't have my gear. I could record one on my computer's mic but I'm assuming that would sound awful (yes, even worse). I have a fancy setup at home for my low-tech podcast.
That's not why I'm writing though. I'm really writing about podcast content.
I want to do some bits on construction projects and there's probably enough to do a whole show on each one.
I need to know what to do first... What you'd rather hear first...
* Encore - I saw the plans and wrote the article but I could talk more about it, plus, it's good to talk about vs. write about. I might go and take another look at the stuff.
* City Center - rising from the ground at this point.
* Palazzo
Those are the three big projects I have on my radar for coverage. What do you think?
Lastly - I need more phone calls. Come on folks. I'd love to put you on the show.
