The Lady Luck shut down for renovations almost a year ago with the promise of renovation - well, it is still closed. Some predicted that the hotel would never re-open and so far it seems that is still an option.
The RJ has an article on the Lady Luck's status:

I seem to recall them saying that it was going to be a two-year renovation.
As stated in the article, the original plan was a one year renovation.
Two things: LL opinion & Barbary changes:
Lady Luck: Seems to me the most lucrative buyer for that property would be a government. It's adjacent to City Hall and the DTC bus terminal. It doesn't really look that bad from the outside but I never went in so I have no idea what the conditions are like.
Barbary Coast: Off-topic but I needed to mention it somewhere. We know that Harrah's is facing the kibosh of their Barbary Coast plans they worked so hard to hammer down. Well, the property changes hands shortly and will close for a few days. The name will be changed to..
*drum roll*
Bill's Gambling Hall.
I'd still take it any day over O'Sheas.
I just Googled it and I was wrong. I don't know where I got the two-year plan from.
I believe that the owners(Downtown Resorts)are having to big of dreams for the property. They simply just cannot get the funding to feed their dreams.
What about the time shares? What happened to all those people who can't use the Hotel Resort and are still expected to pay dues, maintenance, etc?
Place is still closed and as of 6/13/09 appears to remail closed. Looks like no ones touched it since the day its closed. The inside is actually really nice. I had no problems when I stayed there! I think this place has about a good of luck as opening as Key Largo Casino does!!
