Okay, that was amazingly cool. If you've never felt the raw power of a building fall, make sure you put the Tropicana Island Tower implosion on your Jan/Feb calendar.
I took a ton of photos. They are here: http://www.ratevegas.com/photo/gallery/newfrontierimplosion.
That's probably it for now - I'm super tired and it's been a long day. Lastly though, another big thank you to Steve Friess who hooked me up with the pimp media access. Thanks Steve!!!

We are here waiting for them to get cracking. The coffee in the media zone is terrible.
Nice work, Hunter! So are there any specific dates for the Tropicana implosion? January is just around the corner. I'd reserve a Skyloft for that if my schedule allows.
Hunter - awesome meeting you. Here's the implosion video I posted on YouTube and on TheStripPodcast.Blogspot.Com. We'll have a more formal video edition -- with my chat with YOU -- probably tomorrow.
Meanwhile, enjoy:

I fell asleep before all the photos got uploaded - I'm finishing them now.
Did they blow the lower rise long tower that looped around the main taller tower also?
I have a hundred more good photos but the stupid Internet connection here at The Mirage sucks and keeps dropping. Arghhhh.
If you get time, I'd love to see some daylight photos of the aftermath!
That's what you get for staying at Mirage! You should have stayed at Wynn! :)
Wynn LV was sold out. Their guest Internet sucks too. It all comes from Cox.
BTW, I will be back home tonight and will post the rest of my photos, Frontier, Encore, Palazzo and more.
MikeE - listen to the Loizeaux interview on The Strip this week to hear the deets on the Trop implosion. That's where that news came from.
For some reason, the Flickr importer I wrote isn't bringing over the rest of my photos to this site.
They are on my Flickr page though:

Enjoy.
Also, I have a couple hundred photos of construction and I'll upload those, hopefully tonight. Tons of Encore and its low rise, Palazzo, The Mirage, etc...
There and back in 24 hours, one implosion, hundreds of photos. I'm tired.
