I've been getting some private inquiries about fellow Vegas Gangster and TWHT columnist Jeff Simpson over the past few days, asking if he was doing okay. I haven't written anything here or on Twitter up to this point but since having conferred with his loved ones, I feel like I can share some information without violating his privacy.
Last week, Jeff had heart complications and had to undergo emergency surgery. He's in critical, yet stable condition in a Las Vegas hospital. He's not yet able to receive visitors but I'll post additional information as it is available.
This has been a tough few days for Chuck, Dave and me, to say nothing of how hard it's been for Jeff's girlfriend and his close friends. If you're a religious person, I'd ask you to pray. If not, think some good thoughts for Jeff and wish him a speedy recovery.
Jeff is an essential part of the ongoing analysis of everything Vegas but more importantly, he's a hell of a good guy and a close friend.
Speedy recovery big guy!

Best wishes and thoughts to Jeff, his friends, and family.
Mind meld commencing.
Tough news. Thanks for keeping us updated, Hunter. Thoughts and prayers going out to you, Jeff.
Prayers for a speedy and full recovery, Jeff. Thanks, Hunter, for sharing the news.
Prayers and good thoughts are sent to Jeff. We all want a speedy recovery for you, so you can keep enjoying life in Las Vegas while educating and entertaining us.
Dang. Detroit said it exactly as I would. Perfect.
I am deeply saddened by this news. I really enjoy Jeff's work, in all the forms I find it in. I have always gotten a thoughtful answer to any email I have sent him. One of my go to reads.
Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Wow, I had no idea until I'd read this and Chuck's post on VT. Thanks for letting us know. Sending good thoughts to Jeff and his friends/family.
Detroit nailed it... get well soon, Jeff!
My thoughts and prayers are with Jeff. Hoping we're talking Vegas together again really soon.
Wow... I lost my dad at a relatively young age (he was 52) from heart disease so this really hits home for me. I've been reading Jeff's work for so many years that even though our paths have never crossed, I almost feel like I know him. Plus the kinship of the fact that there are so very few of us in this similar line of work. He'll be in my prayers to hang tight and have a solid recovery.
Just read this. Hope the next update will continue the positive news. Take care Jeff.
I was floored to hear about my big lovable buddy, Jeff. I met him 20 years ago in Sarasota and I can honestly say I never have met anyone more bright, kind and loving. I am so glad I was able to spend some time with him in March, he did the Vegas Gang podcast from my room and it sounded like he had many good friends, which is not surprising, knowing what kind of person the big guy really is.
All the best to Jeff and his loved ones.
Steve
Get well soon Jeff, good thoughts going out your way for a speedy recovery.
Here's hoping he makes a full recovery. All of you gangsters provide insightful commentary but i find Jeff's perspectives on the business side of gaming to be particularly interesting.
Get well soon Jeff! This is apointment reading & listening. I get most of my LV news here because the coverage is top notch.
Get well soon Jeff. It wasn't until I listened to a recent Vegas Gang Podcast that I learned that you basically grew up a couple cities away from me in Greater Cleveland. Small world. Hope the homegrown talent is back on his feet soon, your experience is unvaluable. God Bless.
